Summary: The U.S. Department of Education (ED) continues to offer training sessions to help institutions of higher education understand and complete their Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment (FVT/GE) and Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) reporting requirements. These ongoing training opportunities supplement the guidance and resources already available to institutions.
Institutions with delinquent data submissions for the 2024, 2025, or 2026 reporting cycles must submit all required information by Jan. 15, 2027. This deadline follows multiple extensions and continued technical assistance from ED.

Dear Colleague:
Federal Student Aid (FSA) is pleased to announce that we will offer a series of new training sessions this fall on FVT/GE and STATS reporting requirements. The additional training opportunities are free, virtual, and open to all institutions of higher education.
We strongly encourage institutions that are delinquent in their FVT/GE reporting to attend. These sessions will address frequently asked questions about FVT/GE; provide guidance on the early implementation for the STATS data collection, which will reduce reporting burden for the 2026 cycle; and help institutions complete and submit all required data.
Reminder: FVT/GE Reporting Deadline
FSA has determined that more than 1,700 institutions are delinquent in meeting FVT/GE reporting requirements for one or more of the 2024, 2025, and 2026 reporting cycles. These data sets were due on Sept. 30, 2025, Oct. 1, 2025, and Oct. 1, 2026, respectively.
As FSA communicated in the Oct. 8, 2026, update to GENERAL-26-49, delinquent institutions have until Jan. 15, 2027, to submit the required FVT/GE or STATS data. This is the final deadline for institutions to submit data for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 reporting cycles. Institutions missing one or more data files for these reporting cycles are encouraged to submit required FVT/GE data as soon as possible, but no later than Jan. 15, 2027. Refer to GENERAL-26-49 for important details.

How to Report FVT/GE and STATS Data to NSLDS
Date/Time: Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, 1–2 p.m. Eastern time (ET)
FSA staff will describe how institutions submit FVT/GE and STATS data to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®), with an emphasis on logistical details and processes. The session will provide an overview of the FVT/GE and STATS and Earnings Accountability regulations, an overview of the reporting requirements, and the processes institutions use to report data. The primary audience for this event includes institutional reporting staff who have not previously submitted FVT/GE data, financial aid administrators, institutional researchers, and anyone seeking a refresher about the data submission process.
You must register to attend this webinar. The session can accommodate up to 10,000 attendees in the session. For the best webinar experience, download the Zoom app before the event.
Additional Resources: We will post the webinar presentation, recording, and transcript on the FSA Training Center the week following the webinar. After logging in, select “Recorded Webinars and Training” on the main menu bar, followed by “STATS and FVT/GE Reporting,” to locate the training material.
A Conversation With ED: Complying with Financial Value Transparency Reporting Requirements (Hosted by ACE)
Date/Time: Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2026, 2–3 p.m. ET
Over the last several months, ED has engaged with higher education associations about their members’ delinquent FVT/GE data submissions. As part of these ongoing efforts, ED is partnering with the American Council on Education (ACE) to host a virtual event featuring ED officials, who will discuss the FVT/GE and STATS reporting requirements. ED will provide an update about FVT/GE and STATS data reporting, followed by a moderated Q&A. The event is free and open to all, including those that are not ACE members.

FVT/GE and STATS Session at the 2026 FSA Training Conference
FSA will offer a session at the December 2026 FSA Training Conference on FVT/GE and STATS reporting requirements. This session will cover a variety of topics about the reporting requirements, including how to report, what to report, required and optional data elements, early implementation, and upcoming reporting deadlines. FSA will also address frequently asked questions about FVT/GE and STATS reporting. For conference updates, monitor the Knowledge Center website and FSA Training Conference Home.
